how do i transter music

can somebody tell me how do i get all my songs i have in my i tunes library onto my new laptop....is there a way to transfer itunes from my old laptop to my new one? my old one is an hp that runs xp and i now have a dell with vista....please try and explain how i can do this in the simplest words possible as to i really wont know what im doing....thank you everyone

 

First thing you need is an external hard drive or flash drive (thumb drive) with enough memory storage.

You can't simply move the songs "in your itunes" from your old computer to your new computer.
First, you got to locate the folder in your old computer in which you keep all your songs (they could be in my document, my music, downloads in drive c, or anyway you saved them).
Move the songs from your old computer to your external hard/flash drive by copy paste and move them again from the drive to your new computer (anywhere you want them to be in).
Open up your itunes and add songs to the library by selecting the folder you keep the songs in.

 

isnt there some sort of cord they sell to transfer things from one computer to another
