my 1420 is supposed to ship tomorrow and of course it is still in build. i am anticipating a delay. i've have consistently chatted with reps - all told me there is no delay and people on the phone - same thing. all promised to follow up on my case, none have. i've been told my order is expedited - doesn't seem to be . . .
i'm going to go for the delay compensation tomorrow since i specifically made the silly chat reps swear it wasn't going to be delayed and that no part was backordered and if it was i would be compensated.
so what are people getting? is there any way to get money off your order or do you only get coupons for future orders?
thanks

i didnt even know there was a delay compensation policy...i´d recomment just still waiting
your 1420 will be right soon
but you can always ask for a rebate...

people are getting compensated for delays left and right - and since i was promised there was no delay as recently as yesterday, i expect to be compensated . . .

Why not be creative and think of your own stuff . This begging for help is getting kind of old.

Maybe Dell can send a few fashion models over to your place to keep your mind off your computer that you don't have. -
I got a $100 coupon toward a future order, but it is $100 off of a min of $100.01.

I called to find out what was going on with my order when it changed to 8/28. Basically I told them it was unacceptable and I should be compensated for the inconvenience they have caused. They gave me a $100 coupon for future use (that will be given to me after the order ships).

ATR - models would be nice, although if dell is sending them, they will probably be delayed as well
surprise surprise - i just talked to to dell and my order is delayed until AUGUST 28TH. GOD!!!!!!!!!!! -
Hey everyone seems to be 8/28... we are all in the same boat.
-
i am expecting to be delayed too. If that happens, I am cancelling and going with a hp dvt9600
-
I tried to get compensated, but i didn't get anything. That was with my first order, i canceled it and made a second order, and then canceled that and made a third, so technically my latest order has not been delayed so i cant try again

I have no solutions to delayscant ask for compensation now anyways because it says in big red letters "delays of up to 4 weeks" when you order a vostro 1700.
how do you get compensated for a delay?
