my 1420 is supposed to ship tomorrow and of course it is still in build. i am anticipating a delay. i've have consistently chatted with reps - all told me there is no delay and people on the phone - same thing. all promised to follow up on my case, none have. i've been told my order is expedited - doesn't seem to be . . .

i'm going to go for the delay compensation tomorrow since i specifically made the silly chat reps swear it wasn't going to be delayed and that no part was backordered and if it was i would be compensated.

so what are people getting? is there any way to get money off your order or do you only get coupons for future orders?

    thanks

It sounds like you want your notebook to be delayed so you can benefit from compensations.

Maybe Dell can send a few fashion models over to your place to keep your mind off your computer that you don't have.

I got a $100 coupon toward a future order, but it is $100 off of a min of $100.01.

I called to find out what was going on with my order when it changed to 8/28. Basically I told them it was unacceptable and I should be compensated for the inconvenience they have caused. They gave me a $100 coupon for future use (that will be given to me after the order ships).

I tried to get compensated, but i didn't get anything. That was with my first order, i canceled it and made a second order, and then canceled that and made a third, so technically my latest order has not been delayed so i cant try again :(

So your solution to the delays are to cancel and re-order? You'll NEVER get your laptop!

Lol no that was my solution to getting more for less, currently it costs me £797, originally it cost me £822 for an inferior screen, less ram, inferior wireless card, and home basic.

I have no solutions to delays :( cant ask for compensation now anyways because it says in big red letters "delays of up to 4 weeks" when you order a vostro 1700.
