It comes with an Intel Core i5-430M Processor (2.26Ghz, 4 Threads, Turbo Boost up to 2.53 GHz, 3M cache) while Studio 15 has an i3 processor(2.13 Ghz). It has the same Graphics card as Studio 15 and the rest of the features are also almost the same. Moreover Inspiron 15R is cheaper. Are there any particular disadvantages with Inspiron 15R?

If you need a Full HD screen, you have to choose Studio 1558 else the new Inspiron has all other hardware, I guess.

You can get the Studio 15 with an i5, or an i7 for that matter, not just an i3.

but for greater price. U are getting better for lesser price with inspiron right? Do people prefer Studio only for its looks?

I hope not because the regular Studios are nothing to write home about. They are a bit homely. I think the Studio series has been such a successful model becuase of their displays.

Sometimes the specs you want will be cheaper on the Studio than on the Inspiron depending on the specials Dell is offering at the time. You have to play Dell's game and build a few different systems to get the best price.

The Studios also have better discrete video cards and higher res screens as options. If none of those things are important to you, I don't think there's much else to distinguish the two lines.

I think the Inspiron 15R is simply great. It's got everything you could possibly need for everyday computing and even high end tasks with the core i5 processor, 1GB dedicated graphics and 4gigs of RAM.
