    just wondering how long is the wait now for a vostro 1400, i ordered mine on 14/8, still in production stage. I have also heard people getting their's within a week. btw my ESD is 10/9

    I orderd my 1400 on 8/15 and received on 8/21. I not quite satisfied with the laptop cuz its too chucky and heavy when compared to other 14in notebooks.

    It sounds like you choose an option that was out of stock. I ordered a Vostro 1500 (the Smart Buy @ 599 + the 8600 GT upgrade) yesterday at 4PM and as of today at 3PM it is in the boxing stage of production. I am in the US but I figure it doesn't matter because all of these machines are built over in Malaysia anyways.

    let me do a test, since i belive the long wait is caused my the processor. post if you ordered a vostro with T7100 and got it in no more than 10 days. and post if you ordered one with T5470 and had to wait for more than 10 days

    Order my Vostro 1400 on 8/13, received on 8/20. No webcam but with WXGA+. I think the webcam and choice of LCD are the reasons for most delay these days.
