    how to check order status(canada)

    I ordered my system today over the phone and was wondering how i could check my order status over the internet and over the phone. All my service rep gave me was 9 digit order confirmation number.
    Here are my specs:
    PROCESSOR--Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5450 (2MB cache/1.66GHz/667Mhz FSB)
    OPERATING SYSTEM--Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
    LCD DISPLAY--Glossy, high contrast, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900)
    MEMORY--2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
    HARD DRIVE--120G 5400RPM SATA HDD edit
    GRAPHICS CARD--Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 edit
    OPTICAL DRIVE--8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    WIRELESS CARD--IntelJ3945 802.11a/g Mini-card
    Network Card--Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    BATTERY OPTIONS--85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    3 year return to depot/technical support

    This was with the $320 coupon and I got the rep to give me $20 off the warranty, i tried to get a free dell 810 printer(value of 49) but he said he woud only give it if i went with monthly payments which i didn't.

    I found this site but i don't have a customer number.

    You should get an e-mail from Dell Canada confirming your order. Using that e-mail, click the link to check your order status.

    However, as far as I know, you can't get a precise order status. For example, you can't tell which stage of "In Production" your order is in. I even called Dell Canada to check my order status and all the rep can tell me is that it's "In Production".

    There are at least two relatively young threads already opened about this topic. If anyone ordered from Dell Canada and was able to see the specific production stage of their order, we're still waiting to hear from you...!

    well the problem is that since i ordered over the phone they didn't ask for my email address.

    i gave them my email address and they said they don't need it they just directed me to the site that SmoothTofu gave for anyone who wants to know in the future.

    Register with Dell.ca. It will acept all then go to order status and pull in your order info. It may take a day or so.

    They should take your email as it appears on the dell 'My orders' page long before the status update page.

    Status update is only once a day around 9am and sometimes twice around 5pm (Est). There has been atleast one delivery that still had it listed as in production there.

    I ordered over the phone around 11:30AM today, should I have received a confirmation email already? I had been emailing the representative that made the order previously, so he knew my email. I had previously cancelled an order also, which I received a confirmation for, but not this one.

    I'm not very confident in Dell CS based on the few times I've called them this week, so I'm hoping this works out... 2 out of the 3 people I've spoken to have been clueless and have just told me to call back at some other time.
