how to disable Bluetooth?

Sometimes my wireless will work, and sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why it doesn't sometime and I hear disabling Bluetooth helps, even though I don't have it on my computer. But the question is: how do I disable Bluetooth?

 

it should be in the bottom right hand in your system tray thing where like your power plan thing and clock are showing. right click and click on disable.

 

You can also try checking your bios to see if its enabled by pressing F2 during system boot

I can't seem to figure out why my wireless isn't working. It worked the day I got it, but then didn't work the next day. But later that night, it started working, and now it isn't working again.

I did a clean install of Vista, but I think I have installed most of the drivers back. What do you think the problem is?

EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed the problem permanently. Turns out there was some messed up setting on my Dell wireless card driver, so all I did was uninstall the driver from device manager, and then it automatically reinstalled itself and the problem was fixed. Werd.

You could always just take out the module.

-or- Disable it by right clicking on the device in system properties.

 

Yes I did, but I've heard of people having problems with their wireless because of BT driver interference or whatever even when they don't have it, so I figured that could have been the problem.

 

But how can a BT driver interfere, if you don't have a BT module installed?

 

because the system still sees it. I understand what she is saying, the easiest and most effective way is to do the bios check like stated above. This permanently ensures that Windows is not looking for bluetooth and that no driver should even be initialized for it. Might even find a couple other settings in there you want to change, now if only I could oc in there i would be happy....

Its similar to my system "seeing" a keyboard and mouse that aren't there. I have nothing plugged into my laptop, yet in device manager, it lists an HID-compliant keyboard and an HID-compliant mouse, along with extra entries under the Human Interface tree.

Weird, but it happens.
