right click on MY COMPUTER -> properties
than hardware -> device manager -> monitors -> properties ( plug and play monitor ) -> details
and you should see some initials which mean nothing at first time in the blank . just paste here what you see there.

I got always difficulty to find the right angle...

Isn't tosh the worst screen available for the m1210?

I can only say from experience, but I actually exchanged my M1210 a while back and got an AUO screen in return (I previously had a Toshiba). For the couple days where I had the laptops side by side, I noticed nothing notable between the two screens when using Windows, playing games/movies, going outside/inside or anything visually intensive.

Maybe if I had a gun to my head and had to choose, I might prefer one over the other (if ever so slightly), but after all the hype I kept hearing about one being better than the other on 10-page threads, that was my conclusion.

In my humble opinion, both screens are pretty horrible in their own right. While I absolutely love my M1210, to be honest with all of you, I wish I had a matte screen. I move around campus alot, and would definitely prefer it, even if it resulted in loss of color vibrancy when I'm not on the move.

The first one I got had an AUO, but the screen had light leakage top and bottom, and there was a stuck pixel. I exchanged it for a new one that came with a Samsung. The Samsung has light leakage from the bottom, but no dead/stuck pixels, and the color is also a little better.
So from my experience, the AUO might not be the best of the three.

Seems like we need some pix comparison between different screen brand... to me LG made the best screen available. They built special screen for most Toshiba laptops so the quality is very good. Movies looks stunning on it. I've used 2 Toshiba 17" P105 and I have to say that the screen quality is great. If sony is the top LG should be the 2nd.

PS: i got some pix of Z84J LG screen compare to Dell's LG UXGA screen ... the UXGA is the winner.... best screen ever.

Light leakage is when one part (normally the bottom edge for notebooks) is brighter and has a pale white tone than the rest of the screen; especially when viewing dark images. An example of a light leaking screen :
