i didnt realize until i read some reviews that the rpm speeds matter. now that i look at my order, i bought the 60g 4200rpm instead of the 7200rpm. will this make a big difference in my computer? i will use it primarily for gaming...

by the way, i will be recieving it in the mail in 2 days so its too late to change...what do you think?

Some people will disagree with me, and while I agree with those people that processor, RAM, and Video Card are crucial for gaming, I also believe that the 7200 RPM gives the system an added boost. I just know that when I changed my hard drive to a 7200 RPM I noticed a nice boost in performance in all aspects of my computer. Plus, most gaming articles that I have ever read, always recommended a 7200 RPM drive.
It's too late to change your order, so what I suggest is trying out some games on your laptop and see if it works okay. If you really want the 7200 RPM, you can always buy one later (for about 200$), or you can return your system in the 21 day return period, and order a new computer.
Just my opinion. -

I agree with nesbo,
just keep the 4200 for now and when you can afford it just buy a 60GB 7200 for $200 and swap them out. You can then use the 4200 to backup your data form the 7200 onto, that's what I do[]

do you think if i put my 4200 out for sale anyone would buy it on ebay or something? or are they not really sought out that much

Hard to say, some people might want a backup drive. You could always try, but if that doesn't work, just keep it as a backup your self...you can put it in a tiny USB external kit/shell that costs 25-30$ and you've got yourself a nice backup drive.
how to fix my rpm mistake on 8600?
