i just bought a new inspiron but a question-

this is what i got this morning form dell uk outlet, a bargain and im most pleased

inspiron 1720

17" WXGA 1400X1900
2.0ghz core 2 duo 667 mhz
2048 ddr ram
240 gig serial ata 5400 rpm dual (2 x120gig) hard drives
256mb geforce 8600GT
jet black finish with 2.0 megapixel camera built in
windows vista home premium

£600 including vat and delivery !!

the one i was hunting i missed out on, was a 1.8 ghz without camera and 160hd and a wuxga, but was £70 more before vat, so i basicly swapped the wuxga for the wxga, for extra 80gig hd,camera and faster processor and it was cheaper-bargain ,its plugged in to my hdtv most of the time anyway !


after getting the order confirmation email etc and the service tag, i put that in to the main dell website and it came up as leaving the factory a couple of weeks ago, but it says it has german windows vista and documentation, would that just mean that was for the original owner, and now because i have bought it from the uk dell outlet, it wuld have been re done with uk documentation and english vista ? can anyone clear that up ? as when i orderd it from the the outlet, it obviously didnt say anything about german docs and windows

ive tried phoning them straight up, but got through to deeper outer mumbai, and it was hard work,but not showing on their system besause id not long placed the order

anyone know ?

I don't know about Vista, but if you get a german keyboard that could be pretty annoying.

it shouldnt be german tho should it ? i am a bit worried by this,but surely because its sold on the uk outlet in the uk,they cant ship it with german keyboard and german windows ? that would be ridiculous

 

Now I know where all the recertified from Germany land...by the way, when you ordered it, Dell sent you an order confirmation...is the keyboard and OS listed as German or as English on that?

 

i have recieved 2 confirmation emails, but not the 3rd one with delivery date in,but in the mails doesnt list the full spec ,i replied to one of them asking if it is all ok and english

i have made 2 phone calls but got through to mumbai or somewere via the dell uk utlet number, but they dont seem to understand anything about the dell outlet ??? its frustrating

im currently speaking in live del help chat to an agent to sort this out

 

sweet, its all english ,got emailed back and said that was the service tag from the person the original order was supposed to be shipped to, but the outlet service tags and al details are all updated before its shipped , i think i just caused myself panic by checking the service tag straight away

heres my full spec, im pleased for £600 all in , i dont know why vista home premium is listed twice ? maybe il get 2 lol
