    lol agreed...

And I don't buy anything with the MSI name on it. Every MSI product I've ever purchased ends up being returned to the store within the return policy due to some problem. Recently it was their Digital@nywhere TV Tuner card...

Card was giving me artifacts and etc. in the picture and MSI wanted $45 to do an IN WARRANTY exchange. The card was only $100 so that was 45% of the cost of the card everytime I needed a warranty repair... Nuts! To a lot of people warranties are the last thing they think about, but for me 9 out o 10 times it will be why I stick to one brand over another...

wow really i only have so far heard good things about their notebooks.. i have yet to hear of any really serious problems..

i was going to try a hp but they ended the coupon i was going to use so that is out the window... im not paying what they want for those reg prices with the 8600 gs even with 20% off being still offered imo its not worth it...

im currently looking at the sager 2090 but they are also backordered for 4-6 weeks im not waiting that long again...and the hp business 8510p but to configure a system comparable to my dell it would be over 2000$ no thanks..

dell has issued a replacement which i do hope will be perfect ... my main concern at this point is the screen.. the loose battery etc i will def live with no problems.. but if i find a great deal before i get it ill just simply cancel.. i only posted this thread since i know many people are in the same place looking elsewhere .. and also looking for a great price for a comparable system to the dell.. msi seems to be a good choice based on reviews etc... but i have not used one so i cant personally speak for them..

im awaiting the new order to still hit my dell.com account.. its been almost 2 days and i still dont even see it on there and they promised it to me WITHIN 8 DAYS shipping included so we'll see how true that holds..

since you got that great a deal you should just resell on ebay for some profits instead of cancelling ;)

If it arrives and has a grainy screen. Before you send it back or anything, do what people like me have, and demand a Dell technician come out and replace the screen to the model that you want. Only if they dont fix it send the whole thing back.

i tried and tried that they said they could not and would rather simply swap the whole thing?? doesnt make sense, seems like that costs them more money that way.. oh well im hoping my new one is great ill be so happy if it is.. i will not even be looking for anything else then

Try ringing someone different and if they say the same thing, tell them No! If you are pretty firm with them they'll probably do it.
