    they officially announced "product red"

    but you can no longer choose the red panel on any other config...

    WTH? Did they remove the penryn option? Someone posted a link last week sometime I actually configured one with the penryn.

    Yeah, I just checked the US store too. Best processor is T7800. In fact, the whole config was crappy and more expensive.

    FYI, Crimson Red still available on the XPS M1530 on the Small Business site, but without the big deals.

    Er....why the hell did they change the name of their color? Crimson Red was a lot better than "Product Red".

    Nevermind, just found out. Here's the reason:

    "$50 from this sale goes to the Global Fund, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. That’s enough for 416 single-dose treatments to help prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to baby."

    there is a rumor that penryns will be late because of a hardware issue. that may be the reason of removal.

    What a joke and a ripoff...i priced a RED with 1GB of ram vs the XPS i had priced before with 3GB of ram....the RED is now over $250 more! ...how about you let us donate the $50 ourselves then dell!
