Has anyone encountered this. I just re-installed XP on my girlfriends new i1300 to get rid of Dell's bloatware. I deleted all partitions and installed fresh from disc. Now when I start windows it asks me which OS I want to install and displays a selection of XP Home edition twice. I know she will find this annoying. Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks

My bet, there was a hidden partition which you didn't see/delete. One way to determine this is to look at the drive capacity, for example a 40GB drive should show ~37GB of space.

Did you reformat the HD before doing your fresh XP install?

This is a common problem. An extra line was added to your boot.ini and needs to be removed (right click on my computer --> proprieties-->advanced-->startup and recovery section-->settings-->edit-->delete the line that starts with multi--> save file and exit )
