I am looking at buying the I6000 (my first notebook) and am wondering if I should upgrade the current battery to 9 cell or stay with the original 6 cell and buy a second 9 cell. Is it possible to put both batteries in the computer so when one dies the other picks up?

Also, should I pay any extra for RAM or plan on buying more RAM from another source (an extra 512 seems like it would do the trick). I found it easy and cheap to upgrade the RAM on my desktop but like I said, I have never owned a laptop.

since an upgrade from 6 to 9 cel battery is 99 and an "extra" 9 cel battery is 129 (30 bux more), i think getting a 6 + 9 is way more bang for your buck than just upgrading from 6 to 9.

    get the RAM aftermarket

Unless the battery extra battery says "Modular Bay" in front of it, it can not go in the machine at the same time as another battery. That means you would have to replace the batteries when one dies. I would say just upgrade to the 9 cell and forget the 6 cell. Or find a Dell one where you can get a modular bay battery.
