Hey everyone, I was wondering if the i6000 will come with better graphics than just an x300 b/c I mean dell is making a big mistake here....If I want a laptop with good performing graphics and dont want a huge 17 incher, then the only option I have is the 6000.

Dont get me wrong, I would love to have the upcomming 9300, but again, if you customize that with the link that was provided by dock44, then all the option you have is integrated graphics, x300 and the new nvidia 6800 i believe....I mean where is the bridge?....x300 is basic bottom, 6800 is all the way uptop...

Dell needs to bridge this gap with possibly a x600 or x700 on their i6000 and i9300 lines..

Who agrees, and who knows when they might opt out for better graphics on their i6000 line?

    With Regards
    Gary

Gary, I totally agree that there's a bit of a gaping chasm there between the low end and top end offerings for graphics cards. I know that after the 9300 release it'll probably take until June to see anything else new from Dell in terms of Inspirons, so it is possible they'll offer a higher end graphics card in the i6000 before that time. I'm assuming that the Inspiron 8600 is out of the question for you since you're looking for an Intel Sonoma equipped laptop? If this is not the case the 8600 has various GPU offerings that may fit your needs.

AMEN to that. I too am holding out for better graphics from dell in a 15.4 wsxga. Abaxter, where exactly are you seeing the 8600 being sold from dell? As I am sure you are aware, it is not on the US site.

I doubt they'll make better graphics available for the I6000. It would be nice however for them to make it an x600 not x300, then it would actually be pretty good for a gaming laptop not to mention great portability.

I suppose if you don't need it until August you will probably have another shot at a $750 off coupon or similar deal at some point since those seem to come around every 4 or 5 months or so, so no worries.
