    Hello,

I have a little issue i want to adress.

Everytime when i shut down windows xp on my Inspiron 6400 windows xp hangs for 30 seconds doing nothing (hdd wise) before really shutting down. It hangs at the final windows screen saying (" Windows is shutting down ").

Anyone have some clue why this happens?

There is a reg edit that might possibly fix it. Normally, shut down hang ups are caused by software conflicts. Here is the fix:

You might also try shutting down all of your software before exiting and see if you get the same results. If it doesn't hang with all of the software turned off, then start turning on the software 1 by 1 to see which is causing your laptop to hang.

With my laptop, Norton and PC-cillin have caused the hang up.
