    Hello all!

In my i8200 I currently have a 40gb HD. I'd like to take out the floppy drive and put another HD inside..currently, I'm looking at a another 40gb..used from ebay..this would be as a scratch disk for PS, and some other unimportant things.

Anyways, so first, I played around with the battery compartment. it's big enough just to fit the battery. I took out the floppy drive, and saw it has a bulg coming out on the right, meaning it's not squared, like a HD caddy. Floppy:

    HD caddy:

So how is the HD caddy supposed to fit in the floppy drive cavity?
also, the link to the HD caddy above is for the main HD compartment on the right side of the notebook. It's to small to fit in the floppy drive. the i8200 has switchable bays btw (you already know this), but can't find the 2nd caddy to fit in the floppy drive bay? I hope I was clear enough...

Anyways, after I but the caddy and get the drive..what next? make sure to change it to slave ...right? then format it with partition magic? in windows? or DOS?

Btw, how does one transfer files from the HD caddy infrared sensor?
    any help appreciated!

I doubt that putting a drive inside the floppy case will work.

It looks like the Dell C Latitude 2nd Hard Drive Enclosure Module Caddy will work if indeed you have a C series Lattitude.

The system should recognize the drive once installed or you may have to add it and format it in Disk Management. If the system can't see the drive then check the bios settings. Also make sure you have the latest.
