    hi there, i have installed on my machine an ati mobility radeon 9700 128mb.
    Anyone of you tried a brave upgrade to something next (256mb)??

    if yes, which gpu can be installed?

    I'm 100% sure GPU on Studio 1530 is INTEGRATED on the Motherboard and cannot be replaced!
    I guess for your notebook the situation is the same!Sorry

    No bigdarkmad, that's not true for my notebook.
    The GPU is fully detachable since i dismounted it many times for cleaning reasons.

    Up for some help, i read somewhere about a mobility radeon 9800 256mb...

    The older ones had swappable graphics. I know my Inspiron 5160 was like this.
