    Hello!

I haven't posted in a longgg time but I've had my i9300 for a couple years now and i think my GPU Fan is going bad (The fan in the upper right corner of the laptop that blows out). It's fine at 2,000 or less RPM, but if it starts to go over that (which it does whenever i start a game) it starts to get noisy and kind of rattling. If i pinch the upper right side of the laptop, it'll stop making the noise for about 10 seconds and I prefer not to do that.

I'm looking to replace the GPU Fan all together because I've been told it's a cheap and fairly easy process. I work with desktop's a lot but i have yet to take a laptop apart. My question is; Does anyone know a reliable store that I can purchase the i9300 GPU Fan at? I've looked at Ebay but they are either for the CPU or outrageously priced. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone knows, do you need a special torx screw driver or anything to replace the fan? Will I need to replace any thermal compound? I have yet to experience ANY temperature problems or crashes, but the noise drives me nuts.

    Thank you in advance!

Just to let those of you who were trying to help me know, I opened my i9300 today and cleaned out all the dust, etc. Both fans and heat sinks were caked in dust so i cleaned them off. I actually put it back together correctly and the fan stopped making the noise, so hopefully my problem is solved. :)

It sounds like it will be fine after getting all the dust out.

Unless the fan dies, there shouldn't be any reason to replace it.

Okay.. within 24 hours of cleaning it entirely and such, it's back to making the rattling noise. It cools just fine, but it rattles so badly that the palm rest vibrates 2-3 times as much as it should and it really annoys me. Does anyone know where i could get a good replacement fan for it?
