My friend bought a pretty tricked out 1520 notebook but we noticed that scrolling through the iTunes album artwork is really, really, really, slow. Is this a problem that you guys are experiencing? I guess iTunes is not very compatible with vista yet? He did download the newest version of iTunes.

buy a zune maybe?
I really have nothing to say to iPod users except to NEVER think that iTunes (made for a MAC) will run half as good on vista. a $1,000++ laptop, NO MATTER what spec should run a simple program like that just fine.
Maybe someone who knows about iTunes compatibility will be able to give you some advice. It's like MAC users buying a Zune and using Zune's software on a MAC. I personally hate macs with a passion, but only because they dont offer the freedom that my desktop does..not to mention I'll just use linux for productivity purposes. -

I don't see how, lol. I cannot stand "iAnything"..That's just me though. I was offering him a friendly solution to his problem, which is use software thats meant to be used with your OS.

I use the most recent iTunes seamlessly with my iPod on a 750 Duron I bought 6 years ago. Sorry b0r, you got nothin' - we can expect iTunes to run smooth on Windows. If iTunes wasn't meant to run on Windows, why did Apple design a version of iTunes specifically for Windows?
No advice for the threadstarter, other than checking out the iTunes forums and seeing what they have there. -
b0r - I bet it's because he's running it on an Intel and not an AMD
(jk, I respect your opinion)
Try reinstalling? Yeah I really have no clue either. Try what ViolentGreen said... -
But yeah, iTunes was not CREATED to run for WINDOWS. It's initial reason for coming into existance was to work for MAC users. It was only for the sake of their sales that they made a port for Windows. They made an "ok" mp3 player, and probably didn't see how it would blow over telling people "Hope you have a MAC or know a friend with a MAC if you want to use this"
There are mainstream products TO DATE that don't fully function on Vista, so don't expect a mac port to do the same. I don't support mac, the ipod, the iphone, none of that garbage. I would rather buy a creative zen. Again though, it's just my opinion. -

Dream up incompatibilities? ipod/iphone/ianything=MAC. The incompatibility is right there in what the product actually is. Just because people deal with it and don't complain on the forums, Does not mean the problem doesn't actually EXIST.

Has your friend done a fresh install of the OS. It might be the bloatware on the laptop that is slowing it down -
Are you saying that scrolling through the coverflow album art is slow?
Cuz I'm kind of experiencing the same thing on my 1720. My 5 year old laptop loads up the artwork just as well as my 1720. Which isn't very well at all. It stutters quite a bit. -
Although I noticed that iTunes runs a little slower on my PC (running XP) than on the Macs at the Apple store, it's still not nearly as bad as bad as my friend's Vista notebook which is actually supposed to be faster than my PC.
iTunes album really slow on new 1520
