    if i ask dell to send my software disks...

    they send the product key also right?
    because i'm planning to do a fresh install and if i wipe the installed antivirus, i need to reinstall it afterwards and i don't want to lose my paid subscription

    You will get a Windows Recovery disk with the notebook, and there should be a product key for that disk, on a sticker on the notebook. Other disks should also be included and if they have product keys, they should also be included.

    If you paid for the software, they will send a disc with your laptop and the disc will have the code on it.

    You'll have to request the other discs like Cyberlink PowerDVD and software that is preinstalled on all models

    it is the dvd decoder and software. In order to read/watch DVDs, you must have a decoder. Cyberlink works the best with MediaDirect IMO, but you can use free ones like vlc on the net.
