It's normal. The build stage encompasses pretty much everything from the time you order it up to the day it ships.

Dell Automated vs. Online will never be *in sync*...*.*/period.

If you you want the most up-to-date confirmed information, the best thing thing to do would be to contact a Rep, either by phone or by chat. That way you can get the specifics as to where you are on the production line. Going by chat, you get Case number and transcription of the conversation e-mailed to you. (same with the phone convo, you just get the Case number e-mailed to you).

BTW, the Automated dial has always been more reliable then checking your online status for updates. And, usually your lappy will ship ahead of your ESD...(that is a cushion for Dell to protect themselves from any potential production problems). :)

Did you chat on the phone or online? I called on the phone a couple days ago, and the guy just pretty much repeated to me exactly what the automated service said, and wouldn't budge with anymore information.
