What sucks is that you're so happy now, but in about 3 months the new xps gen 3's will be out.

You were happy when you got yours right? Don't take that joy away from others. Besides, it's a given that there will always be something better on the horizon.

haha thx. seriously i cant just sit here and wait. the thing that is with any electronic stuff, after you buy it, the price starts to drop. theres no way you can wait for the "perfect" machine. oh well, i'm going to have mine when it arrives

I think you will be quite happy with your machine. I am with my 9300. Your right can't wait forever, just buy knowing you bought the best for you in your price range.

Mine is in boxing now, but the estimated ship date is still the 16th...I don't think it will take 7 days to box. When do you guys think it will actually be shipped by?

    Sublime,

Don’t live with just one dead pixel, get Dell to build you a new one or threaten to return (if you are within 21 days). Because of people returning systems back to Dell in the past few years because of this issue, Dell requires its LCD manufacturers to only give them high quality screens and that is why Dell has very little dead pixel problems now.

I know it is hard to deal with building, kitting boxing stages all over again but it is worth it. Don’t live with it. We work really hard for the money to buy this awesome 9300, it better be perfect, 100% perfect. I can deal with minor scratches, say on the bottom of unit, but the display that I look at all the time, must be flawless.

I agree...the LCD should have 0 dead pixels. I just got my Inspiron 9300 yesterday and the LCD with truelife is beautiful and I don't have any dead pixels or do I notice any leaking. Return the laptop and get another one within the 21 days period. It just like if you bought a car, would you settle for 1 scatch or dent on the car?

yea dead pixels can be a problem later on. who knows maybe that lcd might be defective and might cause more dead pixels to turn up. i would always want a perfect machine since you'll be staring at the monitor no doubt.
