I am seriously considering getting a dell 1420, although I live in Canada. I am going to the states for 10 days though, and I would like to buy it there. Are there any dell stores/kiosks where I can do that in the States?...will I be able to obtain it within the 10 days?
Is it financially better to get it at the states (The config that i am looking at is a t5250/5450, 2GB RAM (A must), Geforce 8400M, and preferably a 9 cell battery)?
Is it possble to haggle with the dell salesmen, since i am also considering getting an AMD Intel 1521 (i think) along with my 1420.

    Thanks

Whatever you do, make sure you can get it fixed once you get back in Canada.

Some manufacturers of various electronics will only validate repair under warranty if it's being repaired in the country it was purchased in.

No. No stores carry Dell machines yet. Cept for Wal-mart and that is only a desktop system.

thank you both of you. That explained a lot. I just have one more question and that is: will I be able to get it shipped within those 10 days?

My roommate was talking to Dell today and said that you can get your warranty transfered to Canada (he bought his in the US) but that it takes something like 10 business days. You might want to confirm with a rep just in case, though.
