I posted a while ago of my interest of a Dell 1705 and thank you for your replies. But now I have another question upon the Dell inspirion 6400 and 1505.
Now I hear that they are basically the same, but what are the differences exactly? I went to the Dell home page and tried to see but they both have similar options except the 6400 has a XP option.
I see from other forums and reviews that the new Window Vista is kind of on the fritz right now and still has bugs because of being so new right now.
So I was thinking about getting a 6400 with the 2.0ghz options and all the top notch stuff added(it came out to about less than $1400)but with an XP OS.
Is this a good idea to do than to get the new windows vista?
Is it possible to add windows vista to it manually with a cd later on?
Is upgrading to the Vista OS a priority in this year?
please reply back... I don't wanna just blow $1400

I don't see anything wrong with staying with XP. So long as you have a machine able to run vista and so if you have aleast 1 gig of ram, you do. Vista is a new OS and it still has some bugs to work out. Sure it is hot and I'm sure it works fine for many. But you can always upgrade later. Windows XP works find for now.

The one and only difference between the two: One says E1505 the other says 6400. Other than that they're identical.

I just got my 6400 today. Typing this message on it.

Its a beautiful machine to the eye. Very slick looking.

I did as you did, went for 6400 with the 2.0 , 2 gb ram 7200rpm hdrive...

I went with Vista Business. Its working flawlessly and I really like it. It has a lot of the cool features I've only seen on a mac os before.

I don't think you can go wrong with a 6400 all packed with the good stuff.

You can get the ATI X1400 which is better than the NVIDIA 7300. The NVIDIA 7400 is comparable to the ATI X1400. It is decent for gaming and graphics.

How well would it play Battlefield 2142 with the Core 2 T7200, 2gb memory, 100gb 7200 hard drive and that card?

x1400 is better but don't get your hopes high. It's going to ren well but not at the higest settings or resolutions. You'll be able to play for sure!!
