I am using my wifes 11 3000 2 in 1 while I am waiting for my SSDs to arrive. I have noticed while using it, it sometimes becomes a little laggy. Even while I am opening things like outlook, the taskbar icons flicker etc. It has a core i3 processor and 4gb of ram, so it should be fairly quick for basic stuff.
I am wondering if it's the Hard drive doing this? I have a 500gb SSD ordered for this machine as well. I really like this little device, but the lag has me concerned for it in the long run. I want it to be able to be smooth for my wife while using it.
any ideas?

the funny thing is I am running w10 on my dell, well....was until the drive died. and I have a lesser processor in my computer and it's smooth. But I was using the SSHD in mine. So I am thinking it's the slow 5400 rpm drive in this computer.

4GB ram and windows 10 is very iffy.

worked fine on other devices I had. If I was doing a lot of intensive stuff like editing etc I would tend to agree with you, but just surfing, and checking email..I think 4 is fine.

I am thinking it's the HDD. I just installed an old SSD I had here into my inspiron 13 5000 and it's MUCH MUCH faster. I am betting the same thing will happen to my 11 3000 too.

Perhaps the fresh install would help a good deal as well. An SSD is still one of the most worthwhile upgrades if you have a mechanical hard drive.

Yep, I am going to do both. I am still finishing up getting my system back up and running. I kept that small SSD from my old acer timeline for something. But I need WAY more storage onboard. I almost had 120gb of software on my old drive. Ha ha.

A little update on this, the SSD made the wife's computer a totally different animal. Boot times went from 3 mins plus to 18 seconds. Obviously, the hard drive in it was Slow as molasses. The amount of ram is fine for what she is doing with the device.
inspiron 11 3000 2 in 1 "laggy"?
