    Yup, glossy black one is the Inspiron 1545. Will have a 1366x768 pixel display. The links that Commander Wolf gave you are fine.

    That's Dell for you, they call it the Inspiron 15, but then the one before was also the Inspiron 15. Glossy black one though is the most recent, which is the 1545.

    I don't know of a reason why another screen would not work - but I am just waiting for an answer back from a display provider & Dell on that very same question - so if I get an answer soon I will post it on here.

    Then USPS ought to reimburse you for that. You should not have to pay for a display that the shipping company shattered.

    i had no insurance......

    see the point is you pay them to get the box there no matter how they do it and if you want them to do it like a human you have to pay extra

    even though they broke it , they are no responsible because they had it in their possession :)

    Oh good grief....the Dell technical support guy referred me to the upgrade sales team. The Dell upgrade sales team referred me to Dell technical support. Go figure.

    The online seller was not much more help either..... Gah, how difficult is it to get a straight answer from people these days!
