hi, like most other users of dell laptops, i've endured years of static noise coming out of the headphone jack which forced me to buy a bluetooth headset. however after installing windows 7, the noise is completely gone!
hopefully other people can also upgrade their operating system and post if their headphone jack problem is also fixed.

does installing windows 7 really fix this? I bought a Dell inspiron 1318 and when I use headphones this annoying static white noise come through the headphones.

If windows 7 fixes this then I am saved since it's coming out very soon.
