hi all,
a friend of my recently purchased a inspiron 1525 with vista home premium 32bit. the machine has been reverted back to xp, and everything is working great except for the avertv card.
visiting avertv's site here it indicates that users who have purchased an avertv card via dell should use a different set of drivers. so far i have not found dell drivers for this avertv card.
installing the regular avertv drivers goes ok, and it correctly identifies the card in device manager. but when i open up avertv6, it says 'device is not ready'. so far every combination of drivers i have tried, has resulted in the same message.
if someone out there is using this avertv card with xp on a dell, i would be very interested in finding out what drivers you are using.
any ideas are welcomed,
thanks folks

I'm having the same issue, running XP pro. I saw rumors that the card is only supported through Windows Media Center Edition, but I don't want to beleive that is our problem. I'm not installing a new OS just for tv. The other problem I have with believing this is that when I installed SageTV (www sagetv com), I can watch tv using that program, although it does not have digital support. I bought the card to get over the air digital signals, not analog. If an aftermarket program can find AND use the card, why is Avermedia's software refusing to cooperate? If you do find an answer, please post, I'll do the same.

I FOUND THE RIGHT DRIVERS FOR XP (non media center)! I went to "system integrator" on avermedia's site and clicked expresscard, then hc82 analog and atsc, then the ap & driver tab, and found a completely different driver than all of the other pages, at the bottom. Uninstall all other avermedia drivers before installing this driver, then install the new one, get the regular MediaCenter from the regular support site, choose custom and uncheck "driver" on the media center installer, and when that installer is done, when you run media center for the first time, you should get the wizard to set up your channels on both analog and digital. I did, and I'm running XP without media center. Good luck!

Strange,
I tried the steps you mentioned, but i still get media center reporting that it can't find any Avermedia tv tuner cards installed.
I believe the ATSC card which I have was sold through Dell only (i bought it after market).
And I'm running on an XP Pro system and the drivers that came with the card give me the same results, no tv tuner card found.
I think its because I'm not running on a Dell machine? ^(*&^$# Dell.
