my inspiron 1525's battery is completely dead. it does charge at all and holds no charge whats so ever.
but the thing is, i received this inspiron with this battery condition from a friend that just ended up getting a better laptop.
(my friend keep the laptop and battery in good condition, always taking out the battery when he is plugged into a wall jack too. so this is kind of strange, possible defect?)
i was just wondering, is there anything I can do with dell and warranty to possibly get a replacement?

If the laptop is still under warranty, and the battery is determined to be defective then you can get a replacement.

batteries I believe are under warranty for 12 months.

Hopefullly you are under warranty, as they tend to be expected.
I bought a 2 year "accessories warranty" from Dell, for items I've bought that only have a 1yr warranty, and can use a longer period.
Covered are my:
BH-200 BT headphone/headset
USB DVD-RW (I bought for my mini 9)
6600VP BT travel remote
1 additional 9 cell battery (1737)
all covered for 3 years total, for less then $50
