Sounds good. Is that all that would be required to go from 200MHz to 266? Or is there a next step?

anyone know why my nvidia card is no longer recognized by my 1720? upgraded to win7 with the original hard drive and it was fine. Did a clean install to the SSD and now it's non existent. I just have the PnP monitor and that's it. There's a 256mb 8400 in there that can no longer be found.

And to really me off, dell chat entered the room and left two seconds later after I was sitting around for a half hour waiting to chat. was freaking ticked.

The 8400m has a known fault. Your warranty might be extended for free if that GPU has failed.

Moral, there is no free extended warranty as the 1720 is not under Dell's list of known defective Nvidia cards. Free extended warranty only applies to the listed, defective models, eg. M1530, M1330.

dbpaddler, what drivers are you using for your 8400M GS? I recommend DOX's and Nvidia's 195.65 drivers. Can you exactly describe the problem?
