i have a dell inspiron 500m that has served me well. the hdd is now starting to play up. need some advice about hdd replacement. currently the smalled hdd i can get is 80gb.

i gather reading some threads that the older inspirons like mine can old handle 60gb.

if i put a 80gb hdd in, will it still work (i dont mind losing the 20gb).

also is wd or samsung better?

    thanks
