I read some really great reviews for the inspiron 6000 but I also heard that there are audio problems (crackling when listening with headphones).
    What's the final verdict?

I've had the Inspiron 6000 for a week now and have not noticed any audio problems, but then again I haven't used any headphones. I'll have to try that later. The built in speakers deliver better sound than I thought they would...

The worst part of it I would say is the bloatware... so much junk came on it. Other than that, I love it.

Yeah, the bloatware is the worst part. Otherwise, I love this computer so much, I wouldn't have it any other way.

i haven't heard of any headphone probs; only 1 poster saying they had probs with the input (which i tested and didn't have a problem with mine; search for the thread).

i regularly use headphones with mine and have had no problems.

    i've been loving mine.

my only gripe that the screen hinge is already starting to loosen up, but i guess that's to be expected.

have had mine for about two weeks, now .. love it .. went from a HP DV1000 to a Dell 6000 .. prefer the Dell! .. (even though the Dell is a 1.6 and the DV's a 2.0!) .. :)

I bought mine about a month ago and have love it. No problems whatsoever. To get rid of the bloatware you will have to reformat it- there's a sticky at the top of this forum. It takes some time and patience but it is worth it 110%. For those of you who already posted about this problem, I would strongly suggest looking into this. I had no experience with that sort of thing at all but was still able to do it.

Being honest, I have had problems with mine. After receiving it I was getting some crashes and blue screens, I did a dell reset and quickly they returned. Then I did a clean install, and I don't think I've reinstalled the drivers very well so am still having problems. I think I will end up selling mine, especially as I now intend to get a desktop I would want a more portable laptop.

could you elaborate a little bit? it sounds like your problems were caused by yourself or the software rather than actual hardware issues from the dell components.

if you're having problems with the drivers, you can look for the "reinstall OS" sticky and see if you missed any steps.

Yes, reading over my post I realise it sounds a bit silly giving no valuable information and I wasn't really meant to be criticsiing the laptop.

I have started a thread called 'My 6000D story so far :D 15 mintues from now) for all the info.
