    inspiron 6400 hard drive problem

    i recently had to reinstall windows, since when, the hard drive memory only appears to be 5 0r 6 gb, when it should be 80gb. any ideas?

    I could see this happening if you didn't partition the drive properly.

    right click on 'my computer' -> manage ->disk management
    you should be able to see the whole drive here.The invisible memory that you are saying may just be unformatted area.convert it into NTFS.you will get back the whole space.

    You will need to partition the drive again. You need to delete all the partions and then reinstall windows
