    Just got my inspiron 9300.
I want to format so i get rid off all dell programs..
I didnt get a win XP cd so , as i read to forums , i tried to create one from Start-dell accessories-recovery cd..
But there is no icon of that.It only shows the express service...
    Any suggestions?
Cannot order cd from dell because for the summer i will stay at Greece for vacations.(already at Greece...)

same thing happend to a friend of mine the day he got it that option to burn the OS wasn't there and for some reason the next day or next time he booted up it was.
so if you havent rechecked do so it might have shown up.

    hope this helped...

if it doesn't reappear, I would contact dell and see what your options are. They might have the utility software hidden somewere online. Eventhough you are in Greece, you might be able to get the CDs (they should send them to you because you don't have the recovery utility). Worst case scenario, you might have to wait until you get back and do a clean install. You can go thru add/remove and get rid of the junk as a temporary solution.

Yeah I just got my 600M last night, and no recovery options either. I'm planning to install Linux anyways, but still it would be nice to have a recover CD in case I ever want to sell the laptop or what not. Also not sure if everyone knows, but my 600M had a 40gb disk, and it had three partitions. A tiny 40mb one (which I think is used for the drivers, not sure), and the main one at 33gb and then another one at 3gb. I assume all the data is on the 3gb one, but I can't get to it. Ahh well, time to call Dell.
