    hi guys,

    i have a problem with an inspiron n5030 that i got as a gift...i upgraded the ram to 4 gb to run windows 7 smooth, but the problem is that it is chocked....i see a lot of hdd activity although i don't have any open apps, programs or anything, i have also tried with xp and the same thing ... i am getting really angry with this...any ideas ?

    celeron m900 2.2ghz
    4gb ram
    hdd 320 sata toshiba 5400rpm

    had, windows 7, vista, xp...i am running out of options, please help...

    Maybe a bad hard drive? Did this happen before you upgrade the memory as well? I'm not actually sure if there is a way to indicate what programs are accessing the disk... if you're still under warranty, consider calling Dell.
