I had to reinstall Win XP and the utilities disk on my Inspiron 1100. Problem is that the monitor is not recognized so the default display is vga. How/where do I reconfigure the monitor? Right now only about 60% of the screen is being used. Very anoying to say the least.

You need display drivers. What graphics card do you have?

Well I managed to change the settings to get a full screen but the image quality is poor. 720x1080 still has a mottled. poor quality display. No listing for a video card in device manager nor a driver on the utilities disk. It was fine before the re-installation of Win XP.
