    Hi All

I have an Indpiron 6400, and recently the battery died but i was still able to run off mains supply, i decided to reinstall my own Xp and it ran with no problems

Now though it wont start at all even with a new battery fitted or by the mains supply, i have installed brand new ram but still no fix

what i get is the power light comes on very very briefly( blinks) whjen i hit the power button, there is no sound of the hard drive or fan starting uip in fact nothing at all, i am beginning to think its a hibernation fault but as i cant get it to even boot i am at a loss

Does anyone have any solutions, i have also tried to disconnect the lid switch to no avail

    Thanks

    Steve

Sounds like an issue I had a short while ago with my Studio. Turned out my issue was caused by poorly seated RAM. Try taking the RAM sticks out and popping them back in, or swapping the slots and making sure they're firmly seated.
