hey...as the title explains...i've installed vista ultimate 32bit on my 1520. i wanted a clean install of vista...

anyway im having issues getting the bluetooth drivers and the microphone driver working. well, i haven't tested the microphone...but i don't know which drivers to get for it. i've already installed the creative webcam drivers for the wc. additionally, i can't seem to get the bluetooth working. i try to run the driver setup for it and it keeps telling me to hit Fn+F2 or hit the radio on/off switch to turn BT on. I try both and neither work...ideas?

edit: ive answered my own questions...see posts 3 and 5

Pop the disc entitled "Drivers And Utilities" that should have come with your notebook.

Well, let me know if you find all the drivers. My Inspiron 1520 will be arriving tomorrow morning. I'll be re-formatting so I might run into the same driver problem. I'll let you know if I come to a solution if you don't figure it out by then. But I hope you do. You probably will.

ok what i did to get the microphone working...
installed NSS (notebook software thing -- dont know if this is necessary)
installed Sigmatel Audio drivers (you probably want to install these regardless)
right click volume (in systray) > click record devices > set the "microphone array" to default.

i wish i didnt have to figure this out myself. hope it helps someone else out.

Yeah usually when there are multiple audio input or output devices you need to actually select which device to make use of since it can take input or give output only on one device at a time.... The same is the case in a desktop PC when you have both a REAR MIC-IN JACK and a FRONT MIC-IN JACK.... You need to select which one to make use of.... ;)
