    Shouldn't question be: Is Sims 2 good enough to play on 700m [ ;)]

    Seriously you need to state your graphics card specs (do you know them? Was it changed from base model?) and then read Sims 2 graphics requirements. Also make sure you have adequate RAM pending that your graphics card is adequate.

    a dedicated card would be preferred, but you'll still be able to play sims2 on the 700m. The system reqs are below, but be aware that when they state "2.0GHz" they're referring to a non Pentium M processor so if your Pentium M is 1.4GHz or greater you should be fine. The more RAM you have the better too.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
    -------------------
    * 800 MHz processor
    * 256 MB RAM
    * Windows(R) XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000 Operating System.
    * At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
    * A T&L-capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM.

    Supported video cards:

    ATI Radeon(TM) series (7000 or better)
    VE series (see note below)
    7000, 7200, 7500
    8500, All-In-Wonder 8500
    9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
    X300, X600, X800

    NVIDIA(R) Quadro(TM) series
    Quadro, Quadro2, Quadro4

    NVIDIA GeForce series (GeForce2 and better)
    GeForce 2
    GeForce 3, 3 Ti
    GeForce 4, 4 Ti, MX 420, 440
    GeForce FX 5200, 5600, 5700, 5800, 5900, 5950
    GeForce 6600, 6800

    Intel(R) Extreme Graphics (see note below)
    82845, 82865, 82915

    NOTE: If you have a non-T&L capable video card, such as Intel Extreme Graphics or Radeon VE series, then you need at least a 2.0 GHz processor.

    I would add that if you didn't upgrade your RAM in your 700m you should do that since the graphics card shares, so if you have only 256MB, you will probably not get the best performance. I know i'm waiting on a 1GB module, b/c even though i do not do graphics or games 256MB just does not cut it on this computer. cheers

    I have a 700m and one of the first games I tried to play is Sims2.

    I have to say that even with the ac power plugged-in and the graphics setting turned to minimum (800x600), the games is not very fluid and not so playable. This happens especially when there a graphics transitions (zoom in, rotate, pan), and when there are day/night changes. At this point the game becomes unbearably slow especially if the graphics quality is turned up high.

    I have to say this is a disappointment with the 700m and I would expect the blame to fall on the Intel graphics card, not the CPU or any other sub-system component.
