found a good deal on a 1555 locally but it has a blue lid. i was wondering if i can buy a black lid and just swap it out myself.

Not a fan of blue? Is the Black "Chainlink" (standard on the 1555) a glossy finish? It looks glossy in the photos, but the color options are a matte/rubbery-like finish. No fingerprints, smudges or nasty scratches. It's a very durable finish.

    Just FYI...

if the lid is removable, i think with the rubbery surface, you can dye it. that's what i did to my phone's rubberized back battery cover (HTC Touch Pro) with RIT dye.
