pretty good deal
-
I think that is a good price. I ordered the 1420 and it was about the same amount.
What is your ship date? -

-
I just ordered a 1420 with the same configuration. Mine was $1067 (pre-tax) with 6-cell and 9-cell batteries.
-
What sort of warranties are these systems including?
-
I just got the standard warranty, and started with the cheapest base price and finally added the coupon. In fact I had already ordered a 1420 on 7/3, but today they started offering the "free" 2G RAM and 160G HD (It was no trouble to cancel the orignal order by calling Dell.)
When I put together another order this morning it would have come out to about $50 more than my original order. This afternoon everything was about $100 less and I had to upgrade to the 7200 rpm drive *and* get an extra 9-cell battery to meet the $1399 minimum! For me, this will be a real dream machine - at least for the price.Webcam, Bluetooth, Intel Wifi card, extra battery for those long plane rides... wow!
But, my ship date is 8/9 -
do you guys think if i called i could get additional discounts?

is this a good deal on a 1420?
