Hey guys my first post here. I'm about to buy this but am wondering if you guys think it's a good deal. Cost is $1098 even.... I *think* it's a great price but I could use some reassurance. Thank you all for your time.

I would say that's a good price! My only concern is that it doesn't have a DVD-RW drive, though you can easily add that later (since it's modular).
I especially like that they give you the WXGA+ screen, a bigger battery, anda 7200rpm drive. -
Excellent price, especially with the 3 yr NBD + CC.

mattireland It used to be the iLand..
Not bad for the latitude. Go for it mate!!!
-
Yeah, that's impressive, especially with the warranty. Jump on it, man.
-
Hell yeah, that's a great price. I got something similar from a forum member for $1200 but with a 80GB drive and x3100 graphics. I would say this is much much better. Unbelievable price really.
-
That's $500 less than I paid for mine, and it's identical EXCEPT that I didn't get the dedicated graphics card you're being offered, meaning you're getting about $600 off the current discount price. If you don't buy it, can I?

dang with tax and shipping its another 100 bux... $1,173.89...
im seconds away from clicking BUY.. lol ... still waiting though... i hate commiting 1000 bux.
btw thank you lal from your prompt responses -
Well, even that price is still very good. Don't buy it just because it's a good deal. If you need it, buy it, because it's well worth the price.
-
Yeah. I need it. I need a system to take around to code on... I plan to use this as a coding machine. At first I was going to go Lenovo just for the keyboard, but when I saw these specs for the price my attention instantly shifted. Plus the support for modular bay battery, superior battery life in general etc. I was pretty sold!
-
That's an amazing price given the specs. It's like there's a 'reasonably priced RAM' coupon built into it.
-
Bought it! I filed for tax exempt too since I go to a state school and I know they are tax exempt (and since I am buying through them -- hopefully the exempt still goes through).
-
Dunno about tax exempt, but as a school expense you can deduct on your 1040.
Accountants feel free to correct as I'm all about the turbo tax -

What's the difference between Windows XP w/ Media and Windows XP w/o media?
-
You get the OS installation disc with the media option.

I paid the same price for 1GB memory, 80GB hard drive, 6-cell battery and standard Dell wireless card.
I think it's a good deal.
is this a good offer from my school for a D630?
