I've had my e1405 for nearing two years now. I have had this problem for six months or so, just never decided to do anything about it until now. My internal speakers work fine when nothing is plugged into my audio out port, and when I plug in a pair of headphones or external speakers, the internal speakers turn off properly. My issue is that sometimes no sound will come through the headphones after I plug them in. Unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in dosn't help either. The only way to fix it is for me to leave it unplugged for a minute or so. Once I plug the headphones in again after waiting a bit, they work fine until I unplug them. It is also strange that sometimes it works fine the first time, sometimes it dosn't. Anyone have any idea of what is wrong?

try and reinstall the sound driver?
i don't know whats causing it, but i do know that the muting of speakers/headphone jack support is partially (or perhaps all) in the software. -
I reinstalled the sound drivers, but no change. I still have no idea what could cause the problem.
