It's nice, but i am a little underwhelmed. The cffl screen is plenty bright and the whites are white, but the black aren't too black, vertical and horizontal viewing angles leave a bit to be desired, but overall the screen is good. I have the updated motherboard and bios but i still have a hint of CPU whine, My HDD also seems to be clicking and making noise when it shouldn't be. the little plastic peaces by the speakers on the sides are a little loose and the one on the left has a good amount of space between it and the black panel above the keyboard, that black panel above the key board is also little bubbled up on the left side and flexes. the bezel on the sides of the screen presses in. the palm rest flexes a bit. the speakers have a tinny sound but loud enough. the keyboard is nice, although if you press down hard it flexes, so its not a problem. all and all most of that stuff doesn't bother me, except the CPU whine, now that i know it is there it is like my ears are tuned into it.

After a complaint list like that, I was expecting to see that you were sending it back.
-
... I would send it back, make them make you a new one.
-
I think i might send it back, the cpu whine is enough, or maybe it is a different noise, it is coming from the right side-ish area (i can't pin point it)and is a quiet but high pitch hum buzz that is off and on. then there is the hdd clicking.
-
If it's coming from the right side of the laptop, it's definitely not the CPU.
-
I think it might be the optical drive, is it normal for it to make high pitch noise while there is no cd in the drive? I think the clicking might be coming from there to actually, but i can hear it all over the laptop so its hard to pinpoint.
-
also what is normal for heat on these machines, mine seems to be pretty warm for just interneting. hot right underneath the touch pad.
-
as for the whine look at my sig...sounds like the southbridge to me...
-
with internet use, and cpu running 6-20% my cpu temp is ranging from 47-50 degrees celsius.
The whine does seems to be coming from the southbridge, under the express card slot. Is there any longevity issues with this or is it just annoying.
thanks -
Yes, if I get mine and it whines.... it can whine all the way back to the factory!!
-
just got my 1330! pannel
