needless to say im pretty stoked, my dying asus z71v can finally be put to rest, ive kept this thing limping along for the last year but the dc jack in the rear is very intermittent and is showing signs of high resistance in the port getting the pole of the a/c adapter very very hot and melting... so i dumped a chunk of change and here is what i got, i did the xps 1530 in tuxedo black, 4gb ram, 2.5ghz proc, full hd screen but i did not do blu-ray, maybe ill upgrade it later, cant be that difficult. anyhow, they show a estimated ship date of 6/3. this is the first time ive ordered anything from dell but does it really take them that long to build and ship out? i got free next day shipping on it, im just so excited to get it that 6/3 seems like an eternity lol.

That screen is going to be TINY. Good luck reading on it.
-
whoo hooo!
-
nope, iv heard good things about the hd screen
-
and on firefox u can just press control and + to make text bigger. i wouldnt mind a bigger screen actually because i usually have word documents side by side and a higher resolution would make it so i wouldnt hasve to keep resizing and adjusting the windows so i can read from one window and type into another.
i got a 1440x900 ps.
the building does not usually take that long and next day shipping doesn't include weekends -
I have the WUXGA screen, it's not small at all (I guess me being 15 would be partly why). The only problem is that dell only puts samsung screens in their M1530s and there's slight graininess but nothing unbearable... Actually, comparing this to my Inspiron 1520 that I bought last December, the whites seem whiter than the LG WSXGA+ in the in 1520, I guess you can't have everything.
-
It depends if it takes awhile or not. If Dell doesn't have and supply issues it usually will ship out early.
My laptop just shipped today apparently, after being delayed twice because of the screen. -
-
cause you know IE doesn't have the same feature. -
I ordered mine on the 9th and it wont deliver until the 28th, but that is just estimated, they usually ship out about a week early.. -
Did you purchase the 4GB from Dell? If so DONT. Not that they have bad ram. But you can save a huge chunk of change just ordering the ram from NewEgg.

Congrat's on your purchase...you have now become part of the 1530 family!!! LOL
-
yeah i couldnt configure with the processor i wanted for 2 gig of ram, it was like 1800 bux but that included the 3 year accidental coverage and 3 year warranty with onsite service, i wasnt able to locate any cons on the hd screen so i went with that as well. what are the opinions on this matter as it hasnt started building so i could cancel the order and reconfigure if its a bad decision.
-
man im thinking about canceling my order im seeing in peoples sigs they pay like 1300-1500 for the same setup, how??
-
There were some 40% off coupons recently.
I got in on: $599 instant off, 12% off with 3 year warranty, 10% off EPP, free overnight shipping, etc. -
See if you can place the order over the phone. Or even with XPS chat. I know they have stopped doing alot of downgrades. But they should still downgrade the memory. Just make the argument that you do not want to pay for something that the computer will not use (as in, 32bit Vista does not support 4GB of memory, you will get a shade over 3GB).
-
its only 95.00 diffrence btwn 2 gig and 4 gig of ram, not substantial saving, what is better in peoples opinion the hd screen or the led backlit screen?
-
Yeah I paid only $1283.48 for mine
