    guys what are the first things i should be doing / checking ?

    play with it for a while to see how its responding....noise, cpu usage, etc.

    a question i have is: how do i check the monitor i got? i go to control panel>device manager>monitor>plug+play>details = and all it shows is "generic non-pnp monitor"

    On that details tab, you need to use the drop-down and select "Hardware Ids".

    I have a CPT in one of the 1530's I ordered and it looks as good as the LG Panel in the other 1530 ;)
