Hello all,
I followed SouthernGirl's guide to reformatting my e1705 and everything has gone ok except for now when I go to internet explorer or mozilla and use the scroll button, it stutters (looks like a refresh line going up and down the screen) and has a short delay when it brings up the scrolled text. Does anyone know how to correct this? I have run a windows update. Also does anyone know how to get the quick scroll buttons on the mouse area to work? They worked before I reformatted.
Thanks,
Ed

it also happens when i drag windows across the screen; there are trails and stutters as well

Did you install the video drivers? Try that and see if it fixes it.
-
i am pretty sure that is it- since southern girl said to only download the drivers that had a check by them, I did that, but I am going to d'ld the rest of the drivers and see how that works. I will let you know how i stand in a few minutes...

did you install the Intel Mobile Chipset and video card drivers? you have to install the chipset first then GFX drivers.
-
crap, looks like it did not work. I am still getting trails when scrolling or moving windows- in the dell driver cd all it had was a video driver for the intel gma. since i have a 7900gs should i d'ld the driver off of the nvidia site? I just don't understand because when my comp was working fine i do not even think that the nvidia driver was on the comp.

i installed the chipset driver but not the video card...
-
thanks fins and slufa, once I d'ld the nvidia driver everything worked out. i appreciate your timely responses.

ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff
Yeah, you can either get the Nvidia drivers from their site, Dell's site, or another special site that has modified Nvidia drivers.
