I downloaded the l8kfan to try and keep the PC cooler by use of the PC onboard fans. I noticed when I set up the program that the fan acts somewhat strange.

The fan will come on but immediately go off and then come back on again, kind of like an engine revving. Any idea why the fans behave this way?

I noticed that when I adjust the Sensor updates
fan setting enforcement higher, default at 200m the time
of the revs coincide. That is if I set it to 1 sec., thats about as long as the revs last.

    What am I doing wrong?

actually i noticed this myself when i first started using it. on the right under automatic fan control there is an option to check for enabling fan forcing to high speed. select that and it should stay on high now.

I've tried this, and noticed that the fan still pauses slightly even on force on. It's not very noticable but it's there. Also, I don't necessarily want it to run on high all the time. Just kick on earlier so that the keyboard doesn't get so hot.

its because the fan program can tell the fan what to do, but not the bios. The bios says the fan dosnt need to be on, sees it is on, it turns it off. A mean game of tug o war ensues. However after a minute the bios seems to lose, not sure if now thinks the fan is broken or something.. hopefully no perminant memory is kept. ^^
