You can start by telling us what your systems specs, and OS it's running on.

Like any laptop manufacturer would tell you..

-Do a clean install or restore to factory settings.

Start with the easiest fix in case the problem is caused by heat: blow out your vents with canned air. Other things can be tried, but try this first and see what happens.

It's pretty easy to open up your laptop. I can open up, clean inside, and close it back up in an hour.

    Use the link.

    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9400/

It does sound like it's caused by dust bunies.

You can easily monitor your GPU temp using I8kfan, just make sure to offset the GPU temp by 8C.

Idle temp on the GPU should be around 58-60C in the summer.

    Hardware sensor isn't needed.

Just make sure fan runs slow at all times, and kicks to high at gaming.
Idle GPU temp should be about 55-60C.

You said GPU is 50, and seems like you did not offset it by 8C like I said.
