my laptop just started making a hissing noise around the battery/fan while it is plugged in. i unplugged it and the hissing noise was still there but not as strong. i did an f12 diagnostics and the fan passed and the battery holds its chage really well. any idea what it might be? also my screen is flickering on one side and dim on the other. would that be b/c of the hissing noise or something else? your help is greatly appreciated!

Is it a very high pitched noise?

Have you blown out the fan with some compressed air?

Difference in brightness would be a CCFL bulb issue.
